Autumn Days and Winter Nights concerts success

It was great to see so many in the audience for our recent autumn concerts. The music began with a trumpet lead-in to ‘All people that on earth do dwell’, to which the audience was invited to join in and sing.

Excerpts from Vivaldi’s Magnificat followed, after which the female voices sang Karl Jenkins’ ‘Adiemus’, with accompanying recorder.

The folk song, ‘Dance to your Daddy’ was next up, with accompaniment from a penny whistle this time and layered voices.

The concerts ended on a Christmassy note, with ‘Ebenezer Scrooge’s Quiet Night In’ – a series of songs and narrations telling the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his change of heart, written and composed by our very own MD, Jon Rees, and Liz Rees.

Thanks to All Saints Church for hosting us for the two nights. Profits from the autumn concerts will be split between All Saints Church and Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service.

Looking ahead to 2024 – a leap year

In January we will begin rehearsing for a performance on 29th February (a once-in-4-years opportunity) and a second night on 1st March – of songs from musicals. Registration details will be available in the first week of January.
